Started off the weekend with the last 20 miles before the marathon! I’m feeling tired but READY. I’m so excited for the race weekend I can’t take it. Now we just need to find an AirBnb in Virginia Beach (dinner res for all four of us is already booked 😉 ).

To celebrate, and perhaps flush out our legs (Jason ran long too), we took the train into DC and walked around the National Portrait Gallery. However, not before grabbing a much needed coffee from Pret! On the way to the museum we also passed Le Pain Quotidien- and I told Jason I loved that place. He asked me how I know all these “fancy” French coffee shops- LOL.

We explored the Orchid Exhibit on display in the courtyard as we finished our coffees.

Then we walked around for about 2 1/2 hours and saw some art. I liked the mini history lessons alongside the portraits in the main gallery, but I think my favorite was the folk art.

We only made it through one of FOUR floors before they closed. No matter, because we had delicious cocktails and cheese waiting for us at Fogo de Chao:

Side note: I made these chocolate coconut energy balls, which looked good, but somehow only made FIVE?! They better taste amazing.

Happy Monday!
