Goodbye Summer and a new PR

We’ve had a busy, stressful, yet fun-filled couple of months over here. We finally sent out Save the Dates for our wedding, decided on a caterer, and I built our wedding website! What I like about these later stages of wedding planning is that now we have more time to focus on the smaller, more fun details; most importantly… our honeymoon 🙂

Some highlights from when you heard from me last…

Enjoyed the last good days of summer fruit during our Olympics watch party:

Drove up to Massachusetts for a Field Day event with my college friends:

Saw TWO of our favorite artists/bands in concert, Jason Isbell and Vance Joy:

We hosted a halloween-themed painting night with friends… (I’ll let you guess whose is whose :))

and I ran the DC Half!

My goal was 1:45 and I am so happy I squeaked right under it! The race went pretty well (aside from me falling and scraping my knee during the warm-up with Brice, LOL, but at this point it’s to be expected) up until about mile 12, when I think my mind just gave up and I wanted it to be over haha. These were my splits:

7:48, 7:48, 7:58, 7:52, 7:53, 7:44, 7:58, 7:56, 7:58, 7:52, 7:49, 7:56, 8:16, 2:03 (for the last .29)

I really think I have some sort of mental block that occurs at the end of every race haha, but part of what I love about running is that it illuminates tendencies like this and teaches you so much about yourself. As for the takeaway here, I think it’s that I need to try harder to push through to the end of things 😉

And finally, last night I finally started a new book that Veronica accidentally left at my mom’s house. The beer was 10/10… will provide an update on the book 🙂

Happy Tuesday ! ❤
