Greetings! I am back from a long hiatus, and I am ready to share all of what’s been going on with me recently!!
First and most importantly, we nailed down a wedding venue, The Ranch at Austin, for February 22nd, 2025! Jason said he’s proud of his chosen engagement/wedding dates: 11.11 and 2.22! He said hopefully he’ll never forget and thus never get in trouble, but I think we both know, I’m the one most likely to forget 😀
Now I’ve started the more fun part of wedding planning, which I’ve also found equally stressful. I did not know until recently that you need to pick “wedding colors”?! And I am currently agonizing about making the right choice. My initial choice of green, blue, and coral red (emphasis on the coral- I asked Jason if I could send a picture of a flamingo to our florist as inspiration. he said she would charge us extra) was vetoed by both my mom and Jason, citing that that was too many colors. Oh well, the artist in me can’t be limited.
Having to choose only a limited range of colors also tempts me to just go all-white, like this centerpiece I found on Pinterest; we shall see!

Mera was in heaven the other day with her new best friend! We watched my coworker’s brand new puppy, Freya, while she had to attend a conference all day. Mera was very playful as always, and not at all a bully like she normally is, even to bigger, older dogs! It was so sweet to see her being so gentle 🙂

The weekend before last, we found a new farmers market and ate an “organic” muffin, and promptly perused the Economics section of a local used bookshop 🙂

Then this past weekend, we did an ~urban hike~, consisting of 7.5 miles on the Chesapeake Ohio Trail, starting in Georgetown. It was quite a production, having to park our car at the endpoint, drive back home, and take the metro back out to our starting place, but we enjoyed it and are definitely going to try and do the rest of the trail at some point too.

Jason explained to me probably 3 times what a lift lock is on a river (there were 7 of them along our route), which to be honest I’m still unsure about. Good thing I’m not an engineer!

The next day was his birthday, so we celebrated with pickleball, swimming, and Baja Blasts:

Lastly, it’s official! My Shamrock marathon crew and I are doing the DC Half in September. So excited to run with them this summer!
