A Calm Week and a New Meditation Technique

This week felt pretty slow, probably a combination of three things: post whirlwind weekend, not much going on at work, and Jason going into the the office 3x, leaving me to my own devices!

It’s ok, I still had my codependent coworker under foot at all times 🙂

I also DIY’d these jeans last week (pictured above). I used a raggedy pair I thrifted a while back and a bee design I took from a henna stamp set I found on Amazon. They turned out pretty cool and our trivia friends were also impressed.

Jason is usually the better cook (IMO), but I will admit I did really well executing this Detox Soup recipe I found on one of my favorite food blogger’s website. We got all the ingredients before the big surprise, but after the champagne-filled weekend it was much needed!

Speaking of meals I’m proud of, I also had this Girl Dinner-esque plate for lunch today, though it was more substantial and required a bit of prep, so I’m not entirely sure it qualifies. Either way, I thought it was cute.

Lastly, I ordered this acupressure mat from a company called Shakti, and after one use I can definitely say I’m a fan! You can either lay on your back or stand on it, and the benefits of acupressure are that it helps with stress/anxiety, improves sleep, and can even treat migraines. All the reviews about the first use were completely accurate- after about 30 seconds of pain you settle into the discomfort. The sensation doesn’t go away completely, but you’re able to tune out/meditate/maybe even sleep.

Anyway, I love it! Mera’s not quite convinced.
