“Weekending” and a Confidence Booster

For a second, I found it actually quite sad that a high point of this weekend was going to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. But after that brief second, I remembered that I love Farmer’s Markets and I shouldn’t be ashamed!!

We picked up fresh bread, flowers, and fruits/veggies for juicing. All of the ingredients I used are pictured above, minus a dash of turmeric (Marc Manson knows where it’s at).

We also went to Ikea for what seemed like the thousandth time and picked up some more of the $30 bookshelves that everyone seems to have (which, to our delight, were on sale for $25). Our place is coming together nicely, including this cute little section of my office:

The poster is from RedBubble, the succulents are from Costco, picked up the weekend before last. I’ve always loved Costco, but I didn’t realize Jason might be even a bigger fan. I should’ve known- economies of scale and all.

Here was most of our haul:

I let my running go to the wayside this week. With some conferences we had going on at work, I found myself busier than normal without the same level of stamina I had when I was working in person full time as a teacher. So, on Saturday I went out for a workout with low expectations, but knew it was a necessity given my 5k race coming up next weekend. I was pretty down on myself and didn’t think I was going to be able to do it at all, but I managed to squeeze out a 5k tempo @7:20 average.

This was a major confidence boost, especially after coming from a few days of not running. I always forget to trust your body above all else, even your mind. Sometimes you can’t let your mind be in control- you just need to put one foot in front of the other.
